This hotel caters to Vietnamese families on inexpensive group tours. It is outside of town. Service is mostly non-existent -- our driver had to roust a number of other guests before one of them directed him to a young man who finally came to the desk to check us in and show us our room. It was spartan, and not clean by Western standards (unidentifiable black flakes on the floor, which had not been recently swept). We had an air conditioner that worked, Wi-Fi (intermittently), and even a television (no English channels of course), but the shower was a handheld mounted on the wall next to the toilet and the whole set-up did not look promising -- we were only here for one night and did without. The bed linens, a flat sheet and a coverlet, seemed to be reasonably clean, but the "mattresses" seemed to be no more than foam rubber glued to a board -- more than firm, they were decidedly uncomfortable, definitely hostel as opposed to hotel fare by Western standards. There was a "restaurant" of sorts in a building across the street, but it was locked up and did not look promising on the afternoon we arrived. Staff gestured in the direction of the beach when we asked about food -- we eventually found the water and headed towards the nearest people, finding some open-air shacks serving beer and seafood about a quarter of a mile down that were perfectly fine. Later in the evening the "restaurant" was open -- the posted menu looked similar to the seafood shacks but we saw no one eating there, just a few people drinking tea. In the morning, the offering was limited to pho and weak tea -- no coffee available. Bookings.com showed a price of almost $100/night, but we actually paid 400,000 VND, which is a little less than $20, which is fair for the type of accommodations provided, but this is not the kind of place that the average Western tourist is going to find satisfactory. Even backpackers will, we think, decide that a hostel is a better choice. Not recommended.
